The blanket… finished!! and another project started
Well- I finished Natasha’s blanket last night. I immidiatly put it to good use by giving it to Natasha as she slept and she promptly curled up with it- a good sign. Today she occasionally has carried it around. I hope she’s happy with it!
I couldn’t resist so I began a new project with some lovely yarn- Peace Fleece Worsted. It is stiff but not too much so. It’s defined, easy to knit, and makes the work go quickly. I’m already 1/2 done with the back of my new Central Park Hoodie from Knitscene Fall 2006 (find it here at interweave knits shop). I’ll be photographing both soon!

My first real project as a new knitter was a little blanket for my baby- started when I found out I was pregnant and finished about a month before she was born! Yes- it took that long… don’t ask….
My lovely girl loved the blanky that was with her in the incubator to home to everywhere else, and as these things happen, it became the blanket - the one to sleep, to play with, to comfort.
And as these things happen… it got lost. How was that allowed to happen, we don’t know. It was in the car in San Diego and when we arrived in Ensenada 1 1/2 hours later it wasn’t there or anywhere.
So far she’s ok with the blanket, a few sleepless nights but she’s ok. Still, I hate loosing that little blanket, my first knitted work in many many years, and of course the first gift to my daughter. So now I’d like to recreate, though smaller, and I didn’t keep the name of the yarn. All I have is a small ball… I’ve been combing the internet to see if I can find it but so far no joy… I’ll keep looking. This weekend I’ll visit the shop where I bought it originally and see if they have it. Wish me luck!
